My 2 Cents: OKC Most Likely To Pass Mask Mandate; Wearing One Couldn’t Hurt

You can almost bet your bottom dollar, with the governor announcing Wednesday he's positive for COVID, and Tulsa passing a mask mandate Wednesday night that Oklahoma City will too. Here's My 2 Cents.

You can almost bet your bottom dollar, with the governor announcing Wednesday he's positive for COVID, and Tulsa passing a mask mandate Wednesday night that Oklahoma City will too.

Our city council will consider a "mask mandate" Friday.

I'm, quite frankly, surprised that Governor Stitt, now in quarantine, still has his heals dug in against any kind of STATE mask requirement.

There's mounting evidence that masks work to some degree.

Health investigators are pointing to a situation in Missouri where two hair stylists, infected with AND showing symptoms of COVID, wore masks as required in their salon but continued seeing patrons who were also required to wear masks.

Investigators found that none of the stylists' 139 clients or secondary contacts became ill, and all 67 clients who volunteered to be tested showed no sign of infection.

The CDC's projections have admittedly been hit and miss during the pandemic, so take this with a grain of salt, but the Director of the CDC said if everybody would wear masks we could bring COVID under control in four to six, maybe eight weeks.

If that proved to be true schools would be safer even, knock on wood, sporting events like football.

There's conflicting science on the effectiveness of wearing a mask, but it can't hurt can it?

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
