The statewide bar exam will go on as planned Tuesday with COVID-19 precautions.

About 275 people will be taking the Oklahoma Bar exam Tuesday and Wednesday at the Cox Convention Center. Another 10 with health conditions will be taking it at the Oklahoma Bar Center.

Precautions are in place. Masks are mandatory. There will be temperature checks, and everyone will be 10 feet away from each other.

More than 100 people signed a petition, calling for anyone who graduated from law school to get a one-time exception to having to take the exam to become a lawyer.

Bar exam officials said as long as everyone is wearing a mask and distancing, it should be safe.

According to the National Conference of Bar Examiners, Oklahoma is one of 16 states holding in-person exams this week. Delaware is the only state to cancel the bar exam.
