Several metro school districts are already welcoming students back for in-person classes.
Aug. 12 was the first day of school for the private Oklahoma City school Heritage Hall, Christ the King Catholic Church, the Newcastle School District and Kingfisher School District.
Each district has a different plan and is taking their own precautions.
Students preschool through 12th grade at Heritage Hall will have new procedures for drop-off, lunch and classroom spacing. The private school is also giving all students and employees a neck gaiter-style face covering. Students are expected to wear the covering or another mask while indoors.
Each grade level is slightly different, but administrators have listed the changes families can expect on their website.
The school has been showing families some of the changes on social media, including some of the safety barriers that have been installed across campus.
The administration has also recommended parents start getting their child used to wearing a mask prior to the first day of school.
