A Purcell Police officer has found himself on the opposite side of the law.

Thursday afternoon, Officer Jason Baca Senior turned himself in without incident and was booked in the McClain County jail on one count of sexual battery.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), the Purcell Police Department requested OSBI open a full investigation into allegations that Baca committed sexual assault against a citizen.

The alleged incident happened in the early morning hours of August 13 at Purcell Lake.

According to court records, the female victim told investigators she was talking on the phone when Baca stopped near her in his patrol car.

The victim said Baca reflected on when the two first met in April.

According to an affidavit, Baca then left but returned hours later. He allegedly blocked her car and told her to take off her seatbelt and get out of the vehicle.

Court records also said Baca pulled the victim into a standing position and began kissing her.

After saying no multiple times, the victim told investigators Baca began touching her inappropriately. She reports it took bringing up Baca’s wife for him to stop.

In an interview with investigators, Baca claims the victim came on to him and his response "I'm married, but thanks anyway."

Investigators spoke with several other women who've made complaints.

Court documents show another woman told investigators Baca said while on duty quote "I know a couple of places where I cannot be seen, and we can do whatever you want to do."

Another woman tells investigators she felt like Baca was stalking her after responding to a call.

Purcell police told investigators there is no bodycam or dashcam video of the alleged incident at Purcell Lake.

Baca is being held at the McClain County jail on a $50,000 bond.

Anyone who believes they may have had inappropriate contact with Baca are encouraged to contact the OSBI at 800-522-8017 or tips@osbi.ok.gov

It’s unclear if Baca is still an employee of the Purcell Police Department.
