Monday is the last day for Oklahoma SNAP recipients to apply for help, if your food was spoiled because of power outages during the historic ice storm.

The Department of Human Services says SNAP recipients can apply for food replacement funds online or over the phone or through the department before the deadline today.

“We will replace any food that you lost, due to the ice storm, up to 60% of what your October benefit was,” said Keili McEwen, with Oklahoma DHS.

You can go to the departments website to apply online.

“Anyone who doesn’t have internet access is still eligible to apply for the benefits,” said McEwen. “They will need to contact their local DHS Office.”

If you're not a SNAP recipient, you may still have options through insurance.

The state insurance department recommends checking your policy and calling an agent as soon as possible.
