Crews were out again in Tulsa Tuesday morning treating slick spots before the next weather system comes in.
The city of Tulsa has more than 100 snowplows and salt trucks playing both offense and defense at this point because of Sunday's snow and the chance for more winter weather on Tuesday. Maintenance Manager for the city of Tulsa Tim McCorkell says Sunday really showed them what they need to work on and how to be most efficient when tackling today's snowfall.
He says when you have over 1,700 miles of streets to treat, this is no small task, but they have been out since midnight doing the best they can.
"We at least try to keep a curb lane open so the traffic can move and once it subsides then we start plowing the other lanes, adding salt, and cleaning up," said McCorkell
McCorkell says at least 60 guys will be on twelve-hour shifts through what will likely be Thursday morning just to make sure every inch of the city is safe for drivers.
