Inmate Found Dead, Cellmate Apprehended At Oklahoma County Detention Center

The Oklahoma County Detention Center said that an inmate was found dead on Saturday night.

During a routine check, jail officials said the victim, identified as Brad Leon Lane, was found "partially under a mattress" just after 7 p.m. Saturday. Blood was also "seen in the cell."

Officials said the victim's cellmate, identified as Shaquile Brown, was observed with what they claim was a weapon in hand. Additional personnel was called to subdue to cellmate by using an inflammatory spray and remove the cellmate from the cell.

The victim received medical attention. Upon observation, the victim was not breathing and a heartbeat was not detected.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is expected to investigate this case further.
