The Oklahoma County Detention Center confirmed a fourth inmate has died at the facility in just the last three weeks.

Now, the state medical examiner is working to pin point how exactly the detainee died.

The detention center said staff found the 59-year-old detainee unresponsive in his cell around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Emergency responders were called to the scene, but when they arrived he had already died.

The detention center said the detainee did not have a cellmate.

The OCDC investigation unit is conducting an investigation to learn what led up to his death.

This is the fourth inmate to die within the past 16 days.

The Oklahoma County Detention Center said Brad Leon Lane’s cellmate killed him after a fight over the weekend. Two others died at the end of December.

No names have been released as the detainee’s family have not been notified yet.
