New body camera footage shows the moments one man was arrested behind the wheel of stolen Frito Lay truck.

Police said the driver led police on a pursuit early Saturday morning for over an hour.

The truck was finally stopped almost 75 miles from where it started in Oklahoma City. The driver caused chaos across the state before finally being arrested.

An Enid police officer was the first to run up to the truck once it was stopped. Law enforcement told News 9 the driver was identified as 34-year-old Joshua Karpe.

"I would love to know the motivation to stealing a truck that's very, very easy to spot and doesn't go very fast," said Oklahoma City police Capt. Jeff Spruill.

Police caught up to the truck pretty quickly but the truck kept going, Spruill said. Speeds didn't go more than 65 mph, but the real danger was the size of the truck.

"The vehicle swerved toward law enforcement vehicles at least three times, as if purposely trying to hit them," Spruill said. "He did hit at least one county vehicle."

Garfield County Sheriff's Office posted pictures of their unit that was hit and disabled during the pursuit.

"He also swerved toward a state trooper at one point, and a trooper began actually firing rifle rounds toward the truck to try and disable it," Spruill said.

The sheriff's office said deputies also tried to use stop sticks, but the driver went around them. The pursuit finally ended just south of Enid when the truck's tires went flat.

Bodycam footage from Enid police showed law enforcement agencies on scene checking the truck and taking Karpe into custody. At least four agencies assisted with the arrest.

No one was hurt, but Karpe was booked into the Garfield County jail.

Police reports concerning the pursuit are still being finished Monday.

Right now, Karpe's criminal complaints include three felony assault and battery with a deadly weapon complaints.

News 9 was told Karpe could face charges in multiple counties.
