Oklahoma City police is investigating a shooting that left one person in critical condition.
The incident happened late Sunday morning near Southwest 23rd Street and South Agnew Avenue.
“It sounded like six or seven shots and tires screeching away,” neighbor Melody Gomez said.
According to police, officers responded to a shooting call just before noon. When they arrived on scene, broken glass and tire marks were seen throughout parts of the street.
Neighbors said they were in shock when they looked outside.
“I opened my front door and just saw taps,” Gomez said.
“There are some cops outside and I was no way,” neighbor Martin Lara Jr. said. “There was yellow tape, probably the whole perimeter around the neighborhood.”
It is not yet known what caused the shooting. Authorities said the victim made their way to the intersection of Southwest 15th Street and Westwood Boulevard.
The victim was then transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Police are still searching for the suspect.
“Shocking to see that,” Lara Jr. said. “Just right here because I run around here and I take my dogs for walks.”
Police said they have no suspect description at this time.
