One person died and another person is hospitalized following a shooting. It happened near Northwest 51st Street and North Classen Boulevard early Saturday morning.
Police responded to the shooting just before 2 a.m. Saturday.
“When officers arrived, they found two people who had been shot,” Oklahoma City Police Department Captain Arthur Gregory said.
Moments before the shooting, authorities said both victims were fighting with another man near Edna's on Classen.
The fight eventually spilled out into the street. That's when one of the men pulled out a gun and began shooting.
Investigators said the male victim was struck in the leg.
“Officers applied medical attention to the Hispanic male and he was transported to the hospital in serious condition,” Gregory said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“It kind of shook me,” resident Junior Luna said.
Luna said he works as a cook at a restaurant just across the street. He said he could see blood in their parking lot.
“It was scary,” Luna said. “They started telling me about the gentleman like, ‘Oh my goodness.’ It’s just sad.”
Police is still looking for the suspect. Authorities said they believe he fled the scene in a white minivan.
The victims have not been identified as of yet.
