1 Dead After Head-On Crash In SE OKC, Troopers Say

One person is dead after a head-on crash on Tuesday in southeast Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Jacquelyn R. Lucas, 39, of Oklahoma City, died at the scene of the crash on Interstate 240 near Eastern Avenue.

Troopers were called shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday in reference to a crash.

Lucas was driving a sport utility vehicle in the westbound lanes on I-240 when she lost control of her vehicle due to water on the roadway.

The SUV drove to the left and crossed the grass center median and then entered into the eastbound lanes of I-240 and hit a pickup head-on.

Lucas was pinned in her vehicle for more than an hour.

Troopers said the cause of the crash was unsafe speeds for weather conditions.

Lucas was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
