Taft Middle School Closes For Remainder Of School Year Due To Large Number Of COVID Cases

During the closure students will learn remotely.

Taft Middle School has closed for the remainder of the school year due to a large number of positive COVID-19 cases and exposures, Oklahoma City Public Schools officials said Tuesday.

In a letter sent to Taft Middle School families, officials said the closure will begin Wednesday, May 19 and last through Wednesday, May 26. During this time students will learn remotely. Officials said this includes the Taft 5th Grade Center at Linwood.

“We are sorry to end our school year this way, but the safety of our students and staff is always our top priority,” the letter said in part.

Curbside meal service will be provided beginning Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
