State Agents Investigating Deadly Police Shooting In Pushmataha County

Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are looking into a deadly police shooting near Antlers.

According to OSBI, Pushmataha County deputies were conducting a traffic stop around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning when the driver drove away. Deputies were then able to pull the driver over.

While his passenger was being removed from the vehicle, the driver attempted to speed away again and hit one of the deputies in the process.

One of the responding deputies fired at the driver, killing him. The name of the driver has not been released at this time. The deputy, who was hit by the vehicle, was treated but his injuries are not life-threatening.

The investigation is ongoing.
