Woman In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Car While Riding Horse

A man is behind bars, a woman is in critical condition and a horse is dead after a collision in northeast Oklahoma City on Tuesday night.

According to police, officers responded to an injury accident along Northeast 63rd Street and Spencer Jones Road. When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman with life-threatening injuries and the horse she was riding dead nearby.

The driver, who police identified as Muhammad Curry, was arrested under suspicion of being under the influence.

Animal control helped removed the horse from the scene.

A portion of the roadway was shut down while crews worked to clear the scene and it has since reopened.
