Bartlesville Fire Chief John Banks is retiring from the department after 42 years of service.

Banks was promoted to Chief in 2014. A retirement reception was held Wednesday for Chief Banks at City Hall.

He said he has a lot of good memories.

"There's just too many to pick one out, I've just enjoyed my time through the fire service, it's been good to me and my family. If I had the choice to do it all over again, I'd do it all over again,” Banks said.

Bartlesville’s new fire chief, David Topping, took his oath Wednesday in front of Fire Station One.
