Tulsa Man Arrested; Accused Of Assaulting Woman After Breaking Into Her Home

A man is in custody after a break-in attack at the Red River Apartment Complex, according to the Tulsa Police Department

Police said Joseph Bart broke into the apartment of a woman that he knew and assaulted her. Police said the man threatened her with a knife and damaged several things in the apartment.

When officers got to the apartment complex near 71st and Riverside, they said it appeared Bart was holding the knife the same way a person would hold a gun. Officers said they told Bart to drop the weapon but he refused.

Police said that because the area was so well lit they were able to tell it was a knife and not a gun, which helped them eventually deescalate the situation and arrest Bart.
