On Thursday, a group of local activists will gather in front of the Golden Driller Statue near 21st and Harvard in Tulsa to call on the government to pass climate policy.

The gathering is all part of a national day of action by the Sunrise Movement to put pressure on the federal government to confront what they call a "climate crisis."

The Sunrise Movement is a youth organization to stop climate change.

These protests are happening all over the country on Thursday.

The activists want Congress to pass a climate-centered infrastructure package.

The organization said it wants the deal to put Americans in good-paying jobs while combating climate change and building a sustainable future for the younger generation.

The group will gather at the Golden Driller Statue at 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

There will also be a few speakers at the event.
