Drowning Victim Recovered From Arkansas River By Authorities

Authorities recovered the body of 49-year-old Timothy Lenard from the Arkansas River on Sunday after he fell into the water on Saturday morning.

Authorities recovered the body of 49-year-old Timothy Lenard from the Arkansas River on Sunday after he fell into the water on Saturday morning.

The report says that the drowning occurred west of I-244 in the Arkansas River on September 11th after the victim slipped and fell while he fished in the middle of the river.

The body was recovered in seven feet of water, 30 feet from the north bank of the river using side-scan sonar.

Lenard was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tulsa County Medical Examiner.

Authorities with the Tulsa Police, Tulsa Fire, Marine Enforcement Division, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol assisted in the rescue and the ensuing investigation.
