The Broken Arrow City Council has approved a plan to make improvements in New Orleans Square.
Next year, the city will begin adding more trees, better lighting and public art.
The city is also considering changes to traffic signals to cut down on congestion.
Construction should start in the spring and is expected to wrap up in less than a year.
The city also says the widening project on New Orleans between Aspen and Olive is making good progress.
Drivers should expect some lane changes later in the week as crews lay asphalt.
