Southern Star Central Gas Line Company Repairs Natural Gas Leak Near Blackwell

A gas leak that caused several families to evacuate their homes last week has been repaired in Grant County.

The natural gas company, Southern Star Central Gas Line, said Thursday that it has identified and repaired the leak at its Webb Storage Field facility near the Grant County-Kay County line.

The families who were asked to leave their homes as a safety precaution can now return home.

The company said the leak was contained within its own facilities.

Earlier this week, News 9's Ashley Holden spoke to one of the nearly 10 families in seven homes affected by the temporary relocation.
