Students at Putnam City High School had the choice of staying home from school Friday after the administration alerted parents and students yesterday of a possible threat to campus that would allegedly take place Friday, October 29.
“We are allowing you to make the decision that is best for you and your child,” said PCHS Principal Brett Bradley in a letter to parents and guardians. “You may send your child to school, or you may elect to keep them home and have them attend class virtually through Google Classroom.”
Kathleen Kennedy, a spokesperson for the Putnam City School District, said they are working to find the students involved and that disciplinary action will be taken.

Putnam City High School Parents and Guardians
The high school administration was notified of a potential threat on our campus tomorrow, Friday, October 29th, and we are taking the threat seriously. We will be taking extra precautions with additional law enforcement presence on campus.
We are allowing you to make the decision that is best for you and your child. You may send your child to school, or you may elect to keep them home and have them attend class through Google Classroom.
This type of threat continues to follow the National social media trends and we encourage all of you to please talk to your students and remind them that threats of violence at school are not a joke and should not be shared in social media or any other written form.
The safety of our students and staff continues to be our priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact any of the high school administration.
