The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has announced its 69th Academy will be its first-ever "bridge" academy. This will open applications to people with law enforcement experience to get them on the roads faster.

Applications are open to current, full-time CLEET certified law enforcement officers with at least two years of experience.

OHP Chief Pat Mays said, "We're looking at creative ways to recruit for the agency, we know there are many current officers and deputies who would make excellent troopers and enjoy the benefits of a career with OHP."

The department will be accepting applications through December 20th.

The academy starts in April of 2022.
