National Bison Day is on Thursday and a Pawhuska business is ready to help you celebrate.
Osage County is known for its bison that roam the Tall Grass Prairie, which is part of their native grazing land. And this year, the Old West Buffalo Company opened in Pawhuska, giving folks an opportunity to have closer encounters with the bison.
On Friday and Saturday, Old West Buffalo is hosting a two-day festival to celebrate National Bison Day and a lot of events are planned.
There will be buffalo hay wagon rides, where you can feed the bison, a chili cook-off, a native and western art fair and storytelling by Native tribal members and old west heroes in period costume.
The event is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
