Tuesday is expected to be the busiest travel day for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Nationwide, TSA expects to screen around 20 million passengers this week.
Stacey Hamm with Will Rogers World Airport said the airport isn't expecting terminals to be too busy on Tuesday.
Will Rogers opened a new TSA checkpoint in September, allowing more passengers to get through security, faster. They still suggest giving yourself some extra time to get to your gate though.
"I know TSA has more staff on hand to handle the many travelers coming through for the thanksgiving holiday. They will have staff on hand to in December as well," said Hamm.
Monday was the deadline for more than 3.5 million federal employees to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
A TSA Spokesperson tweeted out that 93% of all TSA staff were vaccinated and holiday travel would not be impacted.
"That is our heaviest travel time. Typically, between 5 and 8 am and then it picks up again typically in the afternoon so typically between 12 and two o'clock you'll see a lot of people going through the airport as well," said Hamm.
AAA said they are expecting around an 80% increase in air travel this year nationwide compared to last year.
If you are flying it is important to remember masks are still required here at the airport.
