The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is investigating after it was discovered that four whooping cranes had been killed with a shotgun near Tom Steed Lake in southwestern Oklahoma.

Wildlife experts say the birds are endangered and there are only about 500 left in North America.

Game Wardens are offering a cash reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
