The CDC has issued new quarantine guidelines for those who either have tested positive or were exposed to COVID-19.
The new guidelines are similar to the ones the CDC recommended for healthcare workers, but now it applies to the general population.
Now, these new guidelines depend on your exposure to the virus.
The CDC says they are lowering the quarantine time for asymptomatic positive cases from 10 days to five days.
If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 but have been boosted yourself, then you would just need to wear a mask around others for 10 days instead of isolating.
The CDC says that also applies to those who have taken the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine in the past six months and the Johnson and Johnson in the past two months.
Finally, if you were exposed to the virus and took both vaccine doses over six months ago without a booster, or if you're unvaccinated, the CDC says to stay at home for five days.
The CDC also says regardless of if you have tested positive or been exposed, you should still wear a mask for at least 10 days.
