People can order COVID-19 tests online at no charge, but lots of senior citizens either don’t have a computer or struggle with doing things online.

Tulsa’s LIFE Senior Services is helping those face these challenges.

“It is really important that people have access to them,” said Eileen Bradshaw, the President/CEO of Life Senior Services. “We were super excited, but then we realized that many seniors don’t have access to the computer, which is necessary to get those tests and get them sent. So we are here at LIFE to try and make sure that nobody goes without a test that needs one.”

She said while these tests are great to have on-hand, if you don’t have one but either have symptoms or were around somebody with it, just go find a testing site or see your doctor.

“The COVID testing that the government is offering is awesome,” said Bradshaw. “They are at-home, rapid tests. Those are good for double checking or preventative, but if you are not feeling well or you know you have had a direct exposure to somebody with COVID, don’t wait on these tests.”

In addition to COVID tests, LIFE Senior Services has many different services to help seniors stay healthy.

“Seniors are the most vulnerable population, so anything we can do to protect; scheduling immunizations, giving rides, or helping with these tests,” said Bradshaw.

She said it’s important to protect those who have been through it all.

“Seniors are the fabric, the backbone of Tulsa,” Bradshaw said. “They built this city, and we need to be there for them now.”
