Stray Dog Rescued By Tulsa Police Honor Guard

A stray dog was Rescued by the Tulsa Police Honor Guard this weekend.

Officers with the honor guard were driving back from the funeral of a McAlester officer on Sunday when they came upon an accident on Highway 75 near Okmulgee. They say a driver had crashed into a truck because a truck had slowed down to avoid hitting a dog in the road.

Lieutenant Naresh Persaud decided to take the dog back to Tulsa with him.

He named the dog Killchii, which means "Red Boy" in the Navajo language.

He says Killchii is bumping into walls and walking in circles, but he will be taken to the vet later this week, and once he's cleared he will be available for adoption.
