Two adults and two children are safe after their Sperry home caught fire Friday morning. The family was able to get out of the house before first responders got there. Fire crews say they believe the fire started in the front of the house.

Sperry, Skiatook and Country Corner Fire Departments were all called out to battle the fire.

Crews say at first they thought the house was vacant because no one was inside or around the house, but they learned the four people living inside the house were able to get out safely.

Crews say they had to attack the fire from the outside first, then they went inside through a side door to start tearing down the ceiling to put the fire out.

"I am not sure if they were awake at the time or if it woke them up. I haven't spoken with the family yet,” said Chief Randall Williamson with Country Corner Fire.

The Red Cross has been called to help the family. Crews say they still don't know what caused the fire, but are thankful everyone is safe.
