Tulsa police have arrested a man who they say shot another man with a pellet gun before leading officers on a chase.
Police say they have responded to several reports of pellet gun shootings within the last week. Officers think the incidents are related to a social media trend.
According to police, this latest incident happened on Sunday when officers got a call from a woman saying two men shot her husband with a pellet gun the day before and they were currently parked outside their home.
Officers tried to stop the men when they got there, but police say they kept going, prompting a chase.
Police say at one point, the driver, who officers identified as Douglas Brewer, stopped the car and raised a pellet gun to his head and asked to be shot. Officers say that's when Brewer's passenger got out of the car and surrendered to police.
Police say Brewer then backed into an officer's patrol car and drove about a block further before ditching the car and running off.
Officers say Brewer tried to climb onto the roof of a home, but an officer used a taser to get him down.
According to police, Brewer is a career criminal with multiple felony convictions in Tulsa County. Officers added that he also had an active felony warrant for having a gun.
