Thousands of Oklahoma kids created art that's being showcased right now at the Philbrook Museum. Curators tell News On 6's Sawyer Buccy the space is for people of all ages to take some time to appreciate the mind of a child.

"We are standing in an absolute explosion of children's creativity," said Jenny Fisher, The Big Show Cocurator.

There is a room right now at Philbrook Museum that is all about kids.

"This is The Big Show, and it truly lives up to its name," said Fisher.

An exhibition-- made up of thousands of pieces of artwork created by Oklahoma kids ages 4 to 18.

"Our loose themes are art inspired by nature or the outdoors, art that comes from your imagination and art that shows you or your community," said Fisher.

This space is about lifting up the voices of children, giving kids an opportunity to express themselves and then giving those expressions, a platform.

"In the ways they are exploring the depths of emotions in some of the things that have been going on in the last two years- it is very touching and to be able to show that and share that with people, it is just an honor," said Fisher.

Quotes from kids are also painted on the walls, and their interviews playing on videos.

There is also a space for everyone to add a little something of their own.

"It is a blank canvas of a room where for the first time in a museum that I have seen we say, 'Here is a colored pencil, draw on the walls...you can draw on the floor even,'" said Fisher.

They have thought of pretty much, everything.

"We have binoculars because, as you can see the artwork goes really high up on the wall," said Fisher.

There is a quote that reads, "If we experienced life through the eyes of a child, everything would be magical and extraordinary," and maybe that is what this exhibit is all about for the adults....a reminder to make space in our lives for the magical and extraordinary in the midst of the mundane.

"Looking around the room and seeing these walls full of art-- I feel so full of hope and joy," said Fisher.

The exhibit ends on May 8th--- the day before, there will be a special event for families.
