Friday, Christians everywhere are honoring Good Friday and one Tulsa church celebrated the Holy Weekend with a live Passion of Christ play.
On the front steps of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 50 people performed the live play.
"I think it's the most important season of the catholic church. Not just for the catholic church, but for just us to be Christians," said Carlos Vazquez.
Vazquez participates in the live event at his church every year and he hopes to pass along the tradition to the next generation.
"They can still show it to their next generations and never lose it because it's something very important to us for our faith," said Vazquez.
Member of the church has been performing Passion of the Lord since 2008. Father David Medina said the event brings people together to celebrate the Holy Weekend.
"Different cultures, different skin colors, different philosophies, but all of us can come to the live passion come with one hope," said Father Medina.
The performance takes two hours and whether you speak Spanish or not, the message is clear.
"We know the story of how our Lord Jesus Christ brought salvation to the whole humanity and this is meaningful because the lord we can see through the passion of the lord how he can bring us together," said Father Medina.
