Veteran, Doctors, Parents Among Victims Of Tulsa Mass Shooting

The Tulsa Police Department released the names of the four victims of Wednesday’s deadly shooting at a medical building. 

William Love died protecting others, according to the department. He held the door closed as his wife and other people in the building fled. The 73-year-old retired Army veteran was preparing to begin traveling with his family prior to the shooting. 

Amanda Glenn, 40, was working in the Saint Francis Health System building at the time of the shooting. The receptionist and medical assistant was selfless, according to police. 

“She was the happiest just being with her family, with the most amazing love for her boys and husband,” TPD wrote in a social media post.

Doctors Preston Phillips, an orthopedic surgeon, and Stephanie Husen, a sports medicine specialist, perished in the shooting. 

Phillips, 59, was the shooter’s intended target, according to a note left behind at the scene. 

Phillips held multiple degrees from Harvard Medical School and Emory University and completed two fellowships at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Phillips led trips to Africa to offer medical services throughout his career. 

Husen, 48, was a Ponca City native and OU graduate. She was visiting with a patient when the shooting started. The patient, Zackery Krou, said she helped him hide and then went to assist others. 

“The person that was there to take care of us literally did above and beyond on that, by sacrificing herself to make sure that others were able to get out of the hospital in a timely manner, Krou said.
