In a social media post Sunday afternoon, Cavett announced he now plans to leave the state after being terminated by Norman Public Schools.
That termination hearing lasted more than 14 hours, from Friday into almost midnight Saturday.
The school board ultimately decided to fire Cavett by a vote of 4-1.
Cavett is accused of leaking photos of a school threat.
More specifically, graffiti in a school bathroom with the names of Norman High School students. The vandalism also referenced the threats to kill students and included racial slurs.
Cavett alerted the district but believed they weren't doing enough.
He then shared the photos to an NPS parent, who then shared them to social media to alert parents and with reporters to get journalists involved in the investigation.
Cavett says he is not sure on the timeframe of when he will now move out of the state, but says it will be sooner rather than later.
He plans to move to a place where, "education is funded and teachers are supported."
