U.S. Rep. Markwayne Mullin continues to outpace his challengers for the soon-to-be open U.S. Senate seat in Oklahoma, but the race for second place has tightened, according to a News 9 / News On 6 poll released Thursday.
A poll of likely Oklahoma GOP primary voters were asked who they'd support among Mullin, T.W. Shannon, Nathan Dahm, Luke Holland, Scott Pruitt, Alex Gray and Randy Grellner. Mullin garnered 38.7 percent support, but Shannon slipped from 16.4 percent support to 13 in this latest poll. The Broken Arrow native Dahm climbed from 5.6 percent of the vote to 8.1. This is significant because unless Mullin eclipses 50 percent in the primary vote June 28, there will be a runoff between him and whoever finishes second.
Nearly one-third of Oklahoma GOP voters are still undecided in this race, according to the poll.
Here are the results in full:
Markwayne Mullin - 38.7 percent
Undecided - 30 percent
T.W. Shannon - 13 percent
Nathan Dahm - 8.1 percent
Luke Holland - 5 percent
Scott Pruitt - 2.4 percent
Alex Gray - 1.8 percent
Randy Grellner - 1 percent
