Catoosa residents are better prepared for an active shooter situation thanks to training put on by the Catoosa Police Department.
Police Chief Ronnie Benight says the focus of the training is to raise awareness that public shootings can happen in a variety of places.
Chief Benight says the training was based on the "Run, Hide, Fight" principle.
"Run if you can, hide if you have to, and fight if it comes to that," said Chief Benight. "You should always familiarize yourself with 'where I'm at, and where can I go?'"
There are two more training sessions for Catoosa residents.
Two more training sessions will be held for Catoosa Residents at the community center on August 30th at 9 a.m. and August 31st at 6:30 p.m.
