The Tulsa Police Department is searching for the person they say led officers on an overnight chase in a stolen car.
A stolen car was recovered early Wednesday morning after a chase through the Tulsa metro.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, an officer happened to run the tag number of a car leaving an apartment complex in Tulsa when the results came back that the car was stolen.
The officer followed the vehicle it as it observed traffic laws, while other officers came to assist. By this point the vehicle was on U.S. Highway169 heading in the direction of the Creek Turnpike, where they then went westbound.
Once the car was west of U.S. Highway 75 near North 49th West Avenue, the car dropped off a passenger and continued on. Officers tried to use stop sticks twice, but we're unsuccessful to deflate any tires.
Officers said the vehicle got on the Creek Turnpike a second time, and made its way onto Riverside Parkway and pulled into an apartment complex on East 81st Street. Here the driver jumped out and ran into the complex.
Tulsa Police said they were unsuccessful in locating the driver, but the car was towed away
