A Tulsa couple faces a list of federal charges after investigators said the pair had a meth lab at their home with their children living there.
According to court documents filed by the U.S. Attorney's Office, a confidential source helped investigators with the bust, which led to the arrests of 36-year-old Nathaniel Burns, a convicted felon, and his wife, Ashley Burns.
Documents showed on Oct. 21, the FBI Task Force served a search and arrest warrant at the home near 63rd and Mingo.
Investigators said there, they found an 88 lb. bag that tested positive for meth, 15 gallons of suspected liquid meth, 22 pounds of crystal meth, 300 grams of Fentanyl and 206 grams of cocaine.
Investigators also said they found 13 firearms, about $22,577 in cash and a methamphetamine lab.
Court documents stated inside the home were Nathaniel, Ashley and Kanani Fankhauser, along with five children from the ages of three to eight.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Nathaniel had a felony conviction for possession of controlled drugs in Lincoln County, Oklahoma.
Investigators said Nathaniel denied any knowledge or involvement in any illegal activity, while Ashley told them she knew Nathaniel was a member of the United Aryan Brotherhood and a convicted felon.
The UAB is a prison gang and drug trafficking organization that operates in northern Oklahoma and elsewhere.
Ashley told investigators she and Nathaniel recently got married, in part because her divorce decree from her previous marriage stated that her two children were not allowed to be around Nathaniel, according to court documents.
The documents said Ashley admitted she helped Nathaniel with counting drug money and making deliveries.
The documents also stated Ashley said, “Even with the knowledge of the items in the house, she allowed her minor children, and Nathaniel’s minor children, to be in the household.”
Investigators said the three adults were detained without incident, and the children were removed from the home.
The landlord of the property said the tenants had been there six months and she cannot get a hold of them now.
One neighbor said he saw people coming and going from the home often.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Ashley was released on bond Oct. 26 and Nathaniel remains at the Tulsa County Jail.
