State Education Board Holding December Meeting

The State Board of Education is meeting today on several important topics, including the recent Western Heights settlement with the district's former superintendent.

According to the agenda, the board will discuss Western Height Public School's recent settlement with it's former superintendent Mannix Barnes.

The board is also supposed to take action regarding a case filed back in 2014 by both Western Heights and Mid-Del Public Schools against the state board.

Both claim they did not receive millions of dollars in state aid they were supposed to get.

Members are also expected to issue more emergency teacher certifications.

The meeting starts at 1 p.m. Thursday.
