Family Seeks Answers One Month After Loved One Killed In Hit-And-Run Near Downtown OKC

A metro family continues to seek answers in a deadly hit-and-run that killed Tammy Wolf Chief, 51, near downtown Oklahoma City last month. 

Police released video on Friday of the suspect's car in hopes of generating new leads. Wolfchief’s family does not want the case to go cold.

The victim’s brother described a loving, funny grandmother and mother of three daughters.

“We’re gonna miss her,” David Wolf Chief, the victim’s brother, said.  

Wolf Chief was crossing near Northwest 1st Terrace and Pennsylvania Avenue at night when she was hit. She died in the hospital one week later. 

There were several cars on the road that night and police said the suspect was driving a white or silver-colored small sedan. Cameras on a nearby business caught the crime. 

“It looked like they sped up,” Warren Bichard, the business owner, said. “They didn’t slow down; they bent the corner and kept going. It was kind of brutal.”

Only one car stopped when they saw Wolf Chief in the road.

“They were gonna try to move her to the side, but they saw that she had been hit by a car,” Wolf Chief said. “So, they dialed 911.”

Wolf Chief's brother thinks the suspect might have had the car's damaged front and driver's side door fixed since the crash.

“It might have went to a body shop,” Wolf Chief said. “Anybody that has a body shop that has seen that kind of car and that kind of damage, that’s probably the car.”

He wants the suspect to know this.

“She had family that loved her, and we just want justice to come out of this,” Wolf Chief said. “We went this person to step forward and own up to what they did”
