Oklahoma City Police have arrested a man in connection to a deadly shooting on New Year’s Day.

According to newly filed court documents J’Coal Glover, 30, was arrested Saturday night at an Oklahoma City gas station. Arrested on a first-degree murder complaint, records indicate Glover did not pull the trigger. The cry of police and ambulance sirens marked the start of 2023 in Oklahoma City's Midtown district.

Cell phone video capturing bystanders helping the wounded.

“It was a chaotic scene, as you can imagine,” said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Rob Robertson.

“Some of those people who were struck in the parking lot were bystanders,” said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Dillon Quirk.

Police said violence spilled out into the parking lot following a confrontation between two groups inside a bar near Northwest 10th and Hudson.

“This was not a random act,” said Quirk.

Among the six people injured, was 22-year-old college football standout Daniel Howard.

“Officers arrived there, and found one person deceased,” said Robertson.

Shot several times, Howard was fatally wounded. According to new court filings, after "having been forced outside by security" area surveillance cameras captured. J'Coal Glover walking to his vehicle, “retrieving an item from inside, then returning to the parking lot," just moments after police said he and his party were seen arguing with the victim.

According to court records that's when a second altercation took place. Cameras captured Glover as he helped to conceal a second suspect, who was "holding a firearm behind his back,"

Investigators said the gunman was concealed as he reached past Glover and began shooting "multiple rounds at the victims."
