A woman was arrested for allegedly hiding evidence related to a deadly New Year's Day shooting near downtown Oklahoma City.
Police identified the victim of the fatal shooting as 22-year-old Daniel Howard.
Investigators named Destiny Adams, 21, in court documents as the charged shooter’s accomplice.
Police said Adams first acted as 30-year-old J’Coal Glover’s getaway driver.
Security cameras near the intersection of Northwest 10th and Hudson Avenue caught Adams and Glover driving from the deadly shooting 20 minutes into the new year.
An officer described the scene outside a popular Midtown bar. “When officers arrived, it was a chaotic scene,” Sgt. Rob Robertson with the Oklahoma City Police Department said. “As you can imagine.”
Police said there were five shooting victims, some bystanders in a parking lot. Howard, who did not survive, was a college football player and father from the Oklahoma City metro.
“It doesn’t appear this was a random act,” Sgt. Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department said.
“This spun off of a confrontation that began there in the bar.”
Police said Howard was part of a group involved in a fight with the two suspects that spilled into the streets.
Court documents indicate Glover went to a black car and grabbed something out of the car. Moments later, the murder suspect shot into the crowd. The victims never saw the concealed weapon.
Investigators detailed in Adams' arrest warrant that she drove Glover from the scene and washed the clothes he was wearing that night. Adams allegedly offered to get rid of the evidence.
Police said Adams concealed and aided Glover making her an accessory to murder.
Glover was charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Oklahoma County Detention Center without bond. Adams’ bond was set at $1,000,000.
