1 Dead After I-235 Crash In North OKC

One person is dead after a crash that happened at around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday on I-235 near West Britton Road in northern Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City Police said a truck was driving on northbound I-235 when it lost a tire and went over the retaining wall dividing northbound and southbound I-235.

Officers said a driver on southbound I-235 struck the truck, not being able to see it, and died in the crash.

Oklahoma City Police said a third car, no longer on scene, stopped to help the truck.

It is unknown if there were any other injuries.

Southbound I-235 has been closed between West Britton Road and West Wilshire Boulevard, authorities said.
