The community came together on Friday to say goodbye to a beloved Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office deputy.
They honored Deputy Jeremy McCain's life at a funeral service held at Crossings Community Church in northwest Oklahoma City.
McCain died on Monday from injuries he sustained during an accident.

Those in attendance said Governor Stitt and Senator James Lankford were among the many who attended the fallen deputy’s funeral.

Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office patrol cars led the procession for McCain. Hundreds of friends and loved ones filled the large church for a nearly two-hour funeral service.
Those who knew McCain said he touched many lives. He left a legacy at Oklahoma Christian Academy in Edmond where he served as a campus resource officer for six years.
The school's headmaster spoke to the media the day after McCain passed away.
“If you know Jeremy, he’s a man of large stature but he had a gentle heart,” Al King, Oklahoma Christian Academy Headmaster, said. “I knew that if somebody came on that campus with bad intentions Jeremy would take care of it.”
McCain was leaving the campus two weeks ago when the unthinkable happened.
Investigators said he was rounding a curve when his patrol car collided with a gate. Part of the gate punctured the car's windshield. McCain died on Monday from injuries he suffered in the crash.
He leaves behind a son. Fellow law officers said the boy was McCain's entire world.
“Understanding this kiddo has lost the greatest human being in his life,” Sheriff Tommie Johnson, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, said. “One that he always looked up to, to always aspire to be like. I think that’s, those are the hard things.”
Law enforcement honored McCain with a 21-gun salute following the service. A fitting tribute for someone who served until their final day.

Officials at the sheriff’s office said McCain’s remains were cremated and there was not a burial service.
