Former Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard is one of the plaintiffs in a new case against the NCAA and the five largest sports conferences seeking millions in damages for thousands of athletes.
The lawsuit follows a 2021 decision from the U.S. Supreme Court, which ruled the NCAA cannot place limits on education-based benefits for college athletes.
This decision means student athletes can receive up to $6,000 for things such as computers and paid internships.
Attorneys for the plaintiffs said Division I athletes who graduated prior to the decision still deserve compensation.
