Dramatic video captured police closing in on two Edmond teens moments after police said they crashed a stolen car.
Police said the accused carjackers were armed.
On March 20, around 1:30 am a 911 caller reported a carjacking.
The caller said his son had pulled into their driveway when two masked men forced him out of his car with a gun.
911 caller: They pointed the gun at him, pulled him out of the car and stole his vehicle.
Moments after the 911 caller reported a carjacking, a police officer spots a blue Dodge Avenger, with front end damage, that was described by the victim’s father.
911 caller: I guess they hit the neighbor’s vehicle out front, and drove off.
Police dashcam video showed the officer as he attempted to stop the vehicle. But instead of stopping, the driver punched the gas.
The chase, northbound on Sante Fe topped out at 112 miles an hour.
But as the driver attempted to turn, the vehicle went airborne, and rolled end over end.
Under a cloud of dust, the vehicle rolled to a stop outside the Chase Bank. Police said the driver and passenger immediately ditched the stolen care and ignored their commands.
Police: Show me your hands!
Police: Multiple running, two running.
Malik Glover was arrested first.
Police: I will shoot! Do not move!
Police: Shut up and get on your stomach.
Police find and arrest Darius Jackson in a thicket of thorns.
Police: I have no idea how we're going to get out of here.
Jackson told police he did not want to go back to prison.
Police: Hey, we're both stuck buddy.
Jackson: Please, I’m facing ten to life.
Police: Okay, well you're about to go back to jail and you're about to go back to prison.
Police later located the gun used in the carjacking.
Jackson was taken to the hospital to get checked out before joining Glover in jail.
Both defendants turned eighteen just days before their arrests. They will both be tried as adults.
