New data from the centers for Disease Control showed a dramatic increase in fentanyl overdoses and deaths in the United States.
According to the CDC, from 2016 to 2021, the rate of fentanyl deaths quadrupled from five deaths to over 20 deaths per 100,000 people.
The data also revealed a rise in methamphetamine and cocaine deaths, but a decrease in heroin and oxycodone deaths.
