Tulsa Police Department Holds 'Women In Policing Day' Recruitment Event

Women interested in becoming police officers have the chance to learn about what it's like to work at the Tulsa Police Department on Saturday.

TPD is hosting a women in policing recruiting event for women over the age of 18.

People have until 9:00 a.m. to register online or can just show up in person here at TPD's training academy.

A panel of female officers from TPD will talk about their experience working in law enforcement and answer questions.

The women attending will also have a hands-on opportunity with a defensive tactics instruction and will be able to learn more about the hiring process.

Amyy Stark has been with TPD for four years and says officers from all specialty units will be at the event.

"We are going to have officers from all different parts of TPD talk about the detective unit, K-9 unit, defensive part, and patrol,” said Stark.

The event will be going on all day until 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
