OSBI: Canadian Co. Deputy Arrested, Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Woman During Transport To Jail

A Canadian County deputy was arrested after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman while he was transporting her to jail, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

On July 20, Wesley Wayne Hunter Jr. was transporting a female from Bryan County to the Canadian County Jail, the OSBI said.

During the transport, investigators determined Hunter stopped the vehicle at a remote location near State Highway 70 and Antioch Road.

The OSBI said they had located evidence indicating that Hunter sexually assaulted the female passenger during this time.

Hunter was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on a second-degree rape complaint. He is also no longer employed with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office.
